How to Set an Order's Status on Mercury Network®

Prev Next

Overview

Use the Set status tool in Mercury Network® to communicate appraisal order progress, changes, fees, required actions, and supporting documents to the appraiser and other involved parties. Available fields and message options vary by status and whether the order uses double-blind ordering.

How to set an order status

Updating the status of an order allows you to keep the appraiser and other parties involved with the ordering process informed of the order's progress.

To set an order's status, navigate to this article: How to View Order Details in the Order Workspace in Mercury Network®
click Set Status in the toolbar, and then select the appropriate status from the drop-down menu.

How to add a status message

Depending on the status you choose, a range of options may appear, including date selectors, fields to enter fee changes or other information, options to upload and attach files, and more. In addition to these options, some status updates require you to send a message, while sending a message is optional with other status updates.

  • When orders are NOT double-blind — Type a Message into the provided box and click OK.

  • If you're sending a message using double-blind ordering — Select one of the provided messages and click OK.

How to find or suggest a canned comment

  • To find a canned comment, use the search box in the upper-right corner of the Set order status window. Enter keywords to dynamically filter the available predefined comments.

  • If no canned comment fits your situation, select Suggest a canned comment in the lower-left corner and complete the request form.

Outcome

After you submit the update, Mercury Network records the selected status and any related dates, fee changes, files, or messages with the appraisal order. The appraiser and other involved parties receive the appropriate information based on the order status and double-blind communication settings, helping maintain accurate and consistent order history.
