By defining exactly which status updates synchronize across platforms, you ensure that clients and vendors receive only relevant, timely information. --- ## Configure the Status Mapping Settings Status Mapping allows you to carefully control the flow of status updates to ensure that the parties involved with your orders only receive automatic status notifications that you deem appropriate. Follow the steps below to configure Status Mapping in Mercury Network®: 1. Navigate to the top navigation bar and select **Preferences**. 2. Select **VMP Client Order Setup** in the drop-down menu. 3. If you have multiple **VMP Clients** connected to your **Mercury Network®** account, use the drop-down menu under **VMP Client Portal to Mercury Network® Configuration** to select the site for which you'd like to make changes. 4. On the left, click **Configure Status Mapping**. 5. The **Status Mapping Configuration** grid displays all available order status events. Use this grid to define the synchronization direction for each status. 1. To set a direction, click the desired cell to display a **blue arrow** next to the status event. These settings are configured independently for **Appraisers**/**Agents** and **AMCs**/**Firms**. Ensure you select the appropriate tab at the top left of the grid to manage the desired entity type. - **Arrows pointing left** indicate the Mercury Network® status is synced to the XSite. - **Arrows pointing right** indicate the XSite status is synced to Mercury Network®. - Some blocks are grayed out indicating the status cannot be synced in that direction. - Click any **cog** to access more detailed controls. > [!NOTE] > **Note**: The **AMC/Firms** tab contains specific logic differences from the **Appraiser/Agent** view: > > Excluded Events: The Assignment Expired and Vendor Decline events are omitted because AMCs automatically accept orders. > > Order Changed Sync: Select the cog icon next to Order Changed to specify which order form updates should automatically synchronize to the VMP XSite. 6. After configuring these settings, click **Save** in the upper-left corner to apply your changes. #### Arrow Descriptions ![](https://cdn.document360.io/d7730790-9b0e-4a1e-800e-a32628b13559/Images/Documentation/image-0YJD0W67.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T00%3A31%3A32Z&se=2026-11-06T01%3A31%3A32Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=q76Bn4KA7bw%2FsFBO%2BvolNqbhcQJG6T23b6UFu1BfsFg%3D) | Arrow | Description | | --- | --- | | **An arrow pointing left** | Indicates that the status message flows to the client from the appraiser. For example, in the image above, the Inspection Scheduled status message is automatically delivered to the client when that status is set by the appraiser. Also note that, because the Inspection Scheduled message would only be set by the appraiser, it can only be delivered to the client. | | **An arrow pointing right** | Indicates that the status message flows to the appraiser from the client. For example, in the image above the Delayed status message is delivered to the appraiser when it's set by the client. However, if the appraiser sets the status as Delayed, a status update is not delivered to the client. This allows you to determine how to handle the delay, and control how your client is notified. | | **A blank block** | Indicates that no message is automatically delivered to either the appraiser or the client. This means that you manually control how the selected status is delivered, no matter who sets it. For example, in the image above, the Message status is not automatically delivered to either the client or the appraiser, letting you control how the message should be delivered to either party. | | **A grayed out block** | Indicate that you cannot sync a specific status in this direction because the scenario that would warrant a notification to be sent in that direction is not feasible. For example, the Inspection Scheduled status would only be set by the appraiser, and can only be sent to the client. Therefore, the block beside the vendor settings is grayed out, because the sync would never happen in this direction. | #### Configure Client and Vendor Settings In the status mapping configuration area, you also have the option to configure settings specific to your client and vendor that determine how comments are handled when certain statuses are applied. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/d7730790-9b0e-4a1e-800e-a32628b13559/Images/Documentation/image-F4KH5SXZ.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T00%3A31%3A32Z&se=2026-11-06T01%3A31%3A32Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=q76Bn4KA7bw%2FsFBO%2BvolNqbhcQJG6T23b6UFu1BfsFg%3D) #### Client Settings Follow the steps below to configure the distribution of client comments: 1.
