It also outlines how to troubleshoot common CSV format errors and confirm that imported client profiles are available in the platform. --- #### Import Client The **Import Client** tab allows admin users to import to their platform-version a CSV file containing client company information. The information imported through the CSV import can be used to create a client company profile. This process can be used in place of the previously documented procedures to create a client company profile (see the section [How to Edit the Users Tab Options in Appraisal Scope®](/ext/docs/clone-template-for-appraisal-scope-1-1#overview) for more details). Admin users will find on their platform-version a downloadable file sample that they can access via the **Download CSV File Sample** link at the top of the **Import Client** page. This file can be used as a template. It includes all of the **Required columns** listed on the platform-interface under the **NOTE**, along with other columns that are available to collect information but that are not required. If an admin user is going to import a file other than this template, then the user will need to make sure that it has been saved as a CSV file before it’s imported. #### Importing a client company 1. From the **Import Client** page, click **Select File**. 2. From your local directory panel, choose the file to be imported, and then click **Open**. 3. This will bring up two columns: **Imported File** on the left, and **Company Profiles** on the right. 4. Drag-and-drop each selection from the **Imported File** column to the **Require Field** space in the **Company Profiles** column that corresponds to the information represented by that selection. Note that the required information is highlighted against a red background. The information that is not required will only need to be matched up with a corresponding white field if that information is included in the CSV file. 5. After all components have been matched, click **Import**. 6. The **Import Client Result** dialog box will open, notifying you whether the import was carried out successfully and how many client companies were included in the import. Click **Close**. 7. The new client company profile associated with this import will now be accessible from the **Users** tab, **Client** tab. > [!NOTE] > **Note regarding CSV format errors**: : If an import cannot be successfully carried out due to an error in the CSV file being imported, a dialog box labeled **Import Client Result** will appear. This box will contain a link to download a spreadsheet, which will give the user the reason why an import has failed. > [!NOTE] > **Note regarding the Account Type column:** The **Account Type c**olumn requires that a user enter one of the standard client company types within Appraisal Scope. The following screenshot displays the **Account Type** dropdown list in the Client sub-page **Search** pane, accessible by going **Users >** **Client**. The standard client company types available by default in Appraisal Scope are spotlighted. > > ![](https://cdn.document360.io/d7730790-9b0e-4a1e-800e-a32628b13559/Images/Documentation/image-UOB5MH9G.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T22%3A10%3A10Z&se=2026-10-31T23%3A10%3A10Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=U%2FVW92VRNW7z10fcvLp3De94HIb5LhFJImNn4B53nuo%3D) --- #### Import Users The **Import Users** tab allows admin users to import to their platform-version a CSV file containing client user information. This process can be used in place of the previously documented procedures to create a client user profile (see the section [How to Edit the Users Tab Options in Appraisal Scope®](/ext/docs/clone-template-for-appraisal-scope-1-1#overview) for more details). Admin users will find on their platform-version a downloadable file sample that they can access via the **Download CSV File Sample** link at the top of the **Import Users** page. You will also know how to map fields correctly during import and where to find error details if the upload fails. --- ##
