# How to Upload a Portfolio to Climate Risk

## Overview

The first step to gaining insights into Climate Risk is to upload your customer portfolio. This process involves uploading a .csv file containing your customer information, with a primary focus on address data.

1. Access **Climate Risk** from the Araya home screen.
2. Click **Start a New Import**.
3. Click **Continue** after selecting the applicable products to upload the file.
4. Upload your file to the drop box.

#### **File Format**

  - File type: Your file must be a CSV, XSLT, or TXT.
  - Date Format: All dates in your file must use the MM/DD/YY format (e.g., 09/01/2025).

#### Required Column Headers (Data Required)

Your file must include the following columns with complete data to move forward:

  - Reference ID
  - Address
  - City
  - State
  - Zip Code

> [!NOTE]
> **Note**: Your column headers should only contain letters (A-Z), numbers (0-9), dashes (-), underscores ( _ ), and spaces. If you're using a TXT file, please ensure the first row contains your column headers, separated by commas.
5. Edit the **Portfolio Name** or leave the default file name.
6. Click **Continue**.
7. Match any required **product columns** to the applicable **file columns**.
8. Check the box to confirm that the columns lack sensitive or identifiable data.
9. Click **Continue**.

> **Note**: A portfolio can take approximately 20-40 hours to complete validation.
10. Expand the row for the applicable portfolio.
11. Click **Launch**..

## Outcome

You can now upload portfolios to Climate Risk and access climate risk models, spatial coordinates, and asset classifications into a single, intuitive interface.
