# How to Add Loans on Commercial Tax Portal

## Overview

You can expand your portfolio in the portal by submitting new loans for setup and tax research. Whether adding a single new acquisition or a bulk batch of loans, this process ensures Cotality's search team can begin monitoring tax obligations for your properties.

## Adding Loans

1. Click **Add Loans** under the Loans Module in the menu.
2. Select the client profile through which you are making the request. This is relevant only if you oversee multiple clients.
3. To add a batch of loans, upload a file to the designated drop box.

> **Tip**: Click the icon to download a sample template or preview the sample file to ensure your data matches the required format.
4. Add loans manually by clicking **Add Row** to generate a blank template for single entry.
  1. Fill in the **required fields** for each loan.
  2. Use the **duplicate feature** to automatically copy loan information, eliminating the need for redundant data entry.
5. Click **Validate Data** to check for errors or missing information.
  1. Correct any highlighted fields and click on **Validate Data** to ensure that the corrections have been applied.
6. Click **Process Loans** to submit your request.
7. A notification will appear showing that the loan(s) were successfully submitted, along with the **Request ID**.
