Overview
Configuring Assignment Settings allows you to automate and refine how orders are distributed within Investigate. By establishing Tiers, you can apply specific assignment logic and scope filters—such as risk scores, loan amounts, and property types—to ensure the right orders reach the right reviewers automatically.
Configure the Assignment Settings
Investigate utilizes two primary assignment methods, Tiers and Manual Assignment. A Tier represents a specific review type. It defines the assignment logic and rule findings (scope) applied to orders. The Manual Assignment method allows for the direct assignment of orders outside of automated logic.
Select Assignment Settings from the Settings dropdown menu.
Click Turn On Auto-Assignment to create and configure a tier.
In the Confirm Turn ON Auto-Assignment window, select Turn ON Auto-Assignment.
Click Add a Tier.
Complete the Assignment Logic settings. Select a name and set the default assignment logic for the new tier. These can be changed later in settings. Any added members will have these settings for all future orders.
Enter a unique Tier Name for the review type. This is a mandatory field.
Select Check All to include all available fields. It is often more efficient to Check All and then deselect specific data fields that do not apply.
Select the Valuation Type, Loan Purpose, Sub Loan Type, and Property Type report types to be assigned to this review tier.
Define the minimum and maximum CU risk score and LCA risk score for reports assigned to this tier. If a score is unavailable, this filter will be ignored.
Define the minimum and maximum Cotality appraisal score (formerly GAAR score) for reports assigned to this tier.
Set the minimum and maximum Reviewer capacity number of uncompleted files allowed in a reviewer’s queue. Once the threshold is reached, auto-assignment will skip the reviewer and move to the next available user.
Define the minimum and maximum Loan amount and Appraisal Value for reports assigned to this tier.
The Channel field is only available to clients utilizing the Channel field in Collateral Management System® (CMS).
The Customer field is only available to clients utilizing the Customer field in CMS.
Select one or more states from the State dropdown menu, then select the corresponding cities from the City dropdown menu.
Enable the Escalated Reviews toggle if the escalation path follows Tiers (review types) rather than specific individuals.
From the Escalate to whom dropdown menu, select the Tier that represents the next escalation level for this review type. Use the Reconciliation toggle to include reconciliations in this review type assignment.
Click Continue, to add members to the tier.
Add some members for this tier. If these members already have a tier, adding them will change their tier. You can always add more or remove them later.
Use the Search field to locate and select individuals to include in the tier. Members can be assigned to multiple tiers simultaneously.
Mark the checkbox next to a name to add the individual. You can use the scroll bar on the right to navigate the list of available users.
Selected members appear above the search bar. To remove a member, click the X icon next to their name.
Click Add Tier in the bottom right-hand corner to save the assignment logic and finalize the tier with the selected members.
Outcome
By completing these steps, you will have established an automated, rules-based distribution system that routes orders to qualified reviewers based on specific risk, financial, and geographic criteria while managing team capacity to ensure a balanced workload.
