It explains how profile parameters and settings (such as Round Robin and Monitor Only) help determine order visibility and assignment behavior on staff dashboards. --- #### Admin Rule Profiles page The **Admin Rule Profiles** page is where AMC staff users will go to create, configure, and revise Admin Rule Profiles. These Admin Rule Profiles are essentially collections of parameters that orders will be compared against. After rule profiles have been created and configured, they can be assigned and/or used to provide visibility to a staff user from their dashboard into their orders. When the relevant details of an order match the conditions contained in an Admin Rule Profile, then staff users who have been assigned the rule profile will be able to view the order in their dashboard, assign themselves the order, or be assigned the order automatically, depending on how the Admin Rule Profile is configured and the way that the AMC would like their workflow carried out. Admin Rule Profiles can be configured from the **Admin Rule Profiles** page, accessible by clicking **Admin Rule Profiles** in the **Staff** tab menu. The profiles are configured in the configuration table located at the bottom of the page. Users will also be able to view the parameters for already-configured Admin Rule Profiles in this table. To view a specific Admin Rule Profile, a user will click the **Profile Name** box at the top of the **Admin Rule Profiles** page, and select the rule profile from the **Profile Name** list. All of the criteria that have been established for an Admin Rule Profile will display through this configuration table. Staff users can modify parameters associated with the Admin Rule Profile in the columns of the table by clicking on the blue text next to the parameters they want to modify. To delete any rule profile parameter from the table, a staff user will click [**D**]. Parameters can be set for any Admin Rule Profile by **Client, Location**, **Process Status, Jobtype**, and/or **Paid Status**. AMCs can choose to set parameters in some or all of these categories, and the Admin Rule Profile will filter orders based on only those parameters that have been set. Specific details regarding useful ways that Admin Rule Profiles can be applied, the parameters on which the profiles are based, and the procedures for applying and managing Admin Rule Profiles follow below. #### Admin Rule Profile navigational details 1. The **Admin Rule Profiles** button offers AMCs access to their Admin Rule Profile configuration tables and all the controls for configuring and managing Admin Rule Profiles. 2. The **Profile Name** list is where a user will choose from the Admin Rule Profiles saved to a platform-version. 3. The **Permissions** setting control is where a user will go to set permissions that will make an Admin Rule Profile accessible to selected staff users on a view-only basis. 4. The **Refresh Assigned** icon is what a user will click if they have edited parameters of an Admin Rule Profile that is configured for Round Robin, and they want Appraisal Scope to change assignment of any orders that are impacted by the changes. Clicking the icon will only make changes to orders for which an AMC staff user is assigned. 5. The **Refresh All Orders** icon is what a user will click if they have edited parameters of an Admin Rule Profile with mixed Round Robin and Monitor Only configurations, or one that’s configured Monitor Only, and they want Appraisal Scope to refresh the orders so that the Admin Rule Profile configuration changes will be reflected. Clicking the icon will make changes to all orders, whether an AMC staff user is assigned to the order or not. > [!NOTE] > **Note**: Mass changes using the Refresh All Orders icon can take some time to complete. We recommend doing mass changes after business hours. 6. The **Admin Rule Profile Log** icon is what a user will click if they want to see details on changes made to a profile, such as the type of change, the staff user responsible for the change, and the date the change was made. **Figure 2.1. The **Round Robin** check box is what a staff user will select to configure an Admin Rule Profile to assign orders by round robin assignment. When the check box is empty, the Admin Rule Profile is in a **Monitor Only** configuration. 8. The **Configuration Table** consists of columns that correspond to the five categories of parameter. This is where a user will configure or edit an Admin Rule Profile. 9. The [**round robin**] control setting is a toggle control. A staff user will click this setting if they are configuring the Admin Rule Profile on a parameter by parameter basis and they want certain parameters to trigger a Monitor Only configuration. When this control setting is clicked, the text display changes to say [**monitor only**], signifying that a given parameter is in a [**monitor only**] setting. **Figure 2.2. Admin Rule Profile platform interface diagram 2.** ![](https://cdn.document360.io/d7730790-9b0e-4a1e-800e-a32628b13559/Images/Documentation/image-OIISCBJH.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T22%3A10%3A29Z&se=2026-10-31T23%3A10%3A29Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=dmvuA%2FcT4HyuYfdOn1y9V%2FZQ1V%2Fe7z4HRdZvnaUzTwQ%3D) 10. The **Admin Rule Profile Assignment Logs** dialog box is accessible on an order-by-order basis. The **Staff User** field, visible next to the icon, will list the user who is assigned an order at a given time. A user will click the **Clipboard** icon to open the dialog box, and the historic workflow details attached to that order will be visible from this box. **Figure 2.3. Detail of Order Details page with Admin Rule Profile Assignment Logs icon highlighted.** ![](https://cdn.document360.io/d7730790-9b0e-4a1e-800e-a32628b13559/Images/Documentation/image-OIISCBJH.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T22%3A10%3A29Z&se=2026-10-31T23%3A10%3A29Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=dmvuA%2FcT4HyuYfdOn1y9V%2FZQ1V%2Fe7z4HRdZvnaUzTwQ%3D) This functionality is good for users who want to investigate the Admin Rule Profile–generated assignment history of orders in Appraisal Scope. To reach the **Admin Rule Profile Assignment Logs** dialog box from a user Dashboard, click the **File#** or **Borrower Name** associated with the order. When the **Order Details** page opens, click the **Clipboard** icon to the right of the **Staff User** field. 11. The global **Dashboard View Settings** entry highlighted here will determine whether manually assigning an order to a staff user will override the Round Robin assignment rules placed on that profile. When this setting is **Enabled**, an order that has been assigned by round robin process can be manually reassigned to a different staff user, and this action will override any Admin Rule Profile logic that could impact the specific order. **Figure 2.4. Detail of Settings > Options page with manual override Dashboard setting highlighted.** ![](https://cdn.document360.io/d7730790-9b0e-4a1e-800e-a32628b13559/Images/Documentation/image-4Q2ILN66.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T22%3A10%3A29Z&se=2026-10-31T23%3A10%3A29Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=dmvuA%2FcT4HyuYfdOn1y9V%2FZQ1V%2Fe7z4HRdZvnaUzTwQ%3D) #### Admin Rule Profiles concepts and applications The following sections are intended to help AMCs better understand the variety of ways that Admin Rule Profiles can be applied. **Round Robin assignment** The Round Robin assignment functionality for Admin Rule Profiles offers AMCs the ability to configure their platform-version to automatically assign orders to a staff user when an Admin Rule Profile is triggered. Round Robin assignment is set by selecting the **Round Robin** check box, found just above an **Admin Rule Profile** configuration table. Setting Round Robin assignment in this way provides a straightforward application, whereby a round robin process will be applied to assign orders to Admin Rule Profile assignees for every order that triggers the Rule Profile. **To illustrate how Round Robin assignment works, let’s consider the following configuration table:** ![](https://cdn.document360.io/d7730790-9b0e-4a1e-800e-a32628b13559/Images/Documentation/image-JIAQW6M7.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T22%3A10%3A29Z&se=2026-10-31T23%3A10%3A29Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=dmvuA%2FcT4HyuYfdOn1y9V%2FZQ1V%2Fe7z4HRdZvnaUzTwQ%3D) Note that the **Round Robin** check box has been selected. This configuration means that the AMC intends for Round Robin assignment to be applied to any orders that trigger the Admin Rule Profile. To round out our scenario, note that **Client** parameters have been set to apply to the Admin Rule Profile, and let’s imagine that the rule profile has been assigned to three AMC staff users. Under this configuration, Appraisal Scope will automatically assign staff users to orders placed by JTM Loans Plus or Offshore Bank via a round robin process. Now let’s imagine that JTM Loans Plus has placed two orders, and Offshore Bank has placed one. Of the three users who have been assigned the Admin Rule Profile, Staff User 1 will be assigned to the first order that was placed, Staff User 2 will be assigned to the next order that is placed, and Staff User 3 will be assigned to the third. Because three staff users have been assigned the Admin Rule Profile, the round robin process dictates that the cycle will begin again when another order is placed, either by JTM Loans Plus or Offshore Bank. Staff User 1, then, would be the recipient of this fourth order. Appraisal Scope will continue assigning in this circular fashion for orders placed by either JTM Loans Plus or Offshore Bank for as long as the Admin Rule Profile is controlled by the Round Robin configuration. To summarize, the Round Robin assignment functionality for Admin Rule Profiles can be used to automatically assign orders to staff users that have been assigned an Admin Rule Profile. Multiple parameters can be set in any category, and a variety of parameters can be set across categories. The Admin Rule Profile can be assigned to as many staff users as an AMC chooses, but the process behind how Round Robin configuration assigns orders will work the same regardless. #### **Monitor Only configuration** The Monitor Only functionality in Appraisal Scope offers AMCs an alternative to Round Robin assignment when creating Admin Rule Profiles. Generally speaking, any Admin Rule Profile that hasn’t been configured to apply Round Robin assignment by selecting the **Round Robin** check box will be in a Monitor Only configuration. An Admin Rule Profile configured as Monitor Only will not automatically assign an order to the staff users who are assigned to that Rule Profile. In this way, a Monitor Only rule profile can act as a filter for staff users who have been assigned to the rule profile. It gives the staff users a way to focus on the orders that trigger the rule profile without having to pick them out from among other orders that would be visible from their dashboard view. Also, staff users assigned to the Monitor Only rule profile will need to decide among themselves which staff user should be assigned an order, and then manually assign the staff user to the order, unless there is also a Round Robin profile with parameters that cover the order. If the order falls within the parameters of an existing Round Robin rule profile, a staff user will be automatically assigned based on the Round Robin profile. > [!NOTE] > **Note**: An expanded discussion of the way Admin Rule Profiles can be used by AMCs to help staff users manage orders is available in this User Guide. Go to the Applying Admin Rule Profiles to staff management section for more information. We can use a variation on the same scenario we used in the *Round Robin* assignment section to illustrate how a Monitor Only configuration will function differently from a Round Robin configuration. Let’s consider the following configuration table: ![](https://cdn.document360.io/d7730790-9b0e-4a1e-800e-a32628b13559/Images/Documentation/image-RRKEJHD7.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T22%3A10%3A29Z&se=2026-10-31T23%3A10%3A29Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=dmvuA%2FcT4HyuYfdOn1y9V%2FZQ1V%2Fe7z4HRdZvnaUzTwQ%3D) In this case, note that the **Round Robin** check box is clear. The AMC intends here that the staff users who have been assigned this Admin Rule Profile will be able to view the orders that trigger the profile and that they’ll assign the orders among themselves. Note also that the **Client** parameters set to apply to this Admin Rule Profile feature the same companies as our example from the previous section, and let’s imagine that once again the profile has been assigned to three AMC staff users. Each order that *JTM Loans Plus* or *Offshore Bank* places will trigger this Admin Rule Profile, but what Appraisal Scope does with these orders as a result will be different from the Round Robin configuration scenario. In this case, the three Admin Rule Profile assignees will be able to view the orders on their dashboards, but the orders won’t be assigned to them. These users will be responsible for how the orders are assigned to an AMC staff user, or if orders are left unassigned. The scenarios described in this section and in the Round Robin assignment section are very simple, intended to illustrate the basic difference between Round Robin configurations and Monitor Only configurations. AMCs can, however, configure Admin Rule Profiles to take advantage of both the Round Robin and Monitor Only functionalities to manage their staff. In order to take advantage of this more adaptable configurability, AMC users will need to know something about configuring the Round Robin and Monitor Only settings on a parameter-by-parameter basis. #### Parameters explained **Prefatory usage note for configuring parameters** Before parameters are discussed more generally, we’d like to point out a configuration detail to keep in mind when setting parameters in a configuration table. Leaving a column blank in a configuration table means that, as far as the associated column header/category is concerned, the Admin Rule Profile will be inclusive of all orders. Setting a specific parameter or parameters, then, is essentially specifying what, in a given category, the Admin Rule Profile will look for, while excluding all other possible choices in that category. For instance, if a staff user is configuring an Admin Rule Profile and leaves the **Location**, **Jobtype**, and **Paid Status** columns of the configuration table blank, then the rule profile will consider all possible locations, all possible jobtypes that an AMC has set up in their platform-version, and all payment statuses. There is no need for a user to specify any parameters in these columns, unless they want the Admin Rule Profile to only consider the parameters specified. In another example, if the **Client** column is left blank, then the rule profile will consider all possible client companies in an AMC’s platform-version. Entering a particular client in this column, however, will eliminate all other clients when the Admin Rule Profile is considering whether an order meets the conditions that will trigger it. **Parameters continued** The example scenarios provided to this point have been based on a simple **Client** parameter configuration in order to illustrate how Round Robin and Monitor Only configurations work in general. It should be noted at this point that the same underlying logic that causes the **Client** parameter to trigger these hypothetical Admin Rule Profiles in the first place also extends to other parameters as well, and this concept is what will be discussed in this section. One essential thing to remember when configuring Admin Rule Profiles is that the parameters are what cause the Admin Rule Profile to do something with an order. In order for the Admin Rule Profile to do anything with an order, the order must meet the requirements of an entire parameter sequence. To understand what this means, consider the following configuration table: ![](https://cdn.document360.io/d7730790-9b0e-4a1e-800e-a32628b13559/Images/Documentation/image-WH9EHNTX.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T22%3A10%3A29Z&se=2026-10-31T23%3A10%3A29Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=dmvuA%2FcT4HyuYfdOn1y9V%2FZQ1V%2Fe7z4HRdZvnaUzTwQ%3D) We can set aside for the moment the setting controls [**B**] and [**BK**] in the **Client** column and [**D**] and [**C**] in the **Location** column and assume that the parameter sequence for JTM Loans Plus will run as follows: an order placed by JTM Loans Plus will automatically assign by Round Robin to an Admin Rule Profile assignee if and only if one of the two parameters that appear in the **Location** column is matched. To explain what this means with real-world scenarios: this Admin Rule Profile dictates that an order placed by JTM Loans Plus for a property in Michigan will assign by Round Robin, and/or an order placed by JTM Loans Plus for a property in Oklahoma will assign by Round Robin. An order placed by JTM Loans Plus for a property in any state other than Michigan or Oklahoma will not meet the conditions of the parameter sequence and so will not trigger the Admin Rule Profile. The same principle holds true for Offshore Bank: any order they place must also match one of the two parameters set in the **Location** column in order to satisfy the parameter sequence and trigger the Admin Rule Profile. Now let’s consider the following configuration table: ![](https://cdn.document360.io/d7730790-9b0e-4a1e-800e-a32628b13559/Images/Documentation/image-LCY92FXT.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T22%3A10%3A29Z&se=2026-10-31T23%3A10%3A29Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=dmvuA%2FcT4HyuYfdOn1y9V%2FZQ1V%2Fe7z4HRdZvnaUzTwQ%3D) Here we have three conditions that have to be met in order to satisfy a parameter sequence and trigger the Admin Rule Profile: an order placed by JTM Loans Plus will automatically assign by Round Robin to an Admin Rule Profile assignee if and only if one of the two parameters that appear in the **Location** column is matched and the parameter set in the **Jobtype** column is also matched. In other words, an order for a 1004 URAR with 1004D placed by JTM Loans Plus for a property in Michigan or Oklahoma will assign by Round Robin. The same will happen if Offshore Bank places an order for this type appraisal in one or both of these states. However, an order placed by either company for this type appraisal in any other state will not trigger the Admin Rule Profile. Likewise, an order placed for a different type appraisal will not trigger the Admin Rule Profile, regardless of whether it’s for a property in Oklahoma or Michigan. To further clarify how parameters trigger Admin Rule Profiles, we should consider the following configuration table: ![](https://cdn.document360.io/d7730790-9b0e-4a1e-800e-a32628b13559/Images/Documentation/image-5VKK76EY.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T22%3A10%3A29Z&se=2026-10-31T23%3A10%3A29Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=dmvuA%2FcT4HyuYfdOn1y9V%2FZQ1V%2Fe7z4HRdZvnaUzTwQ%3D) Here we have an Admin Rule Profile configured to assign orders only by location. In this scenario, there is no client information that needs to be considered. Any orders placed by any of an AMC’s clients for properties in Michigan, Oklahoma, or Texas will trigger this Admin Rule Profile. > [!NOTE] > **Note**: For AMCs utilizing multiple Admin Rule Profiles, those Rule Profiles configured with broad parameters, such as the above example illustrates, carry a higher risk of conflict with existing Admin Rule Profile configurations. Please see the Conflicting configurations section for more details. To summarize, parameter sequences represent the triggering mechanism for an Admin Rule Profile. The individual parameters that make up a sequence will come from the columns of the configuration table. Users may note the blue text elements associated with each individual parameter. These are clickable controls that allow for configuration on a parameter-by-parameter basis within an Admin Rule Profile. The [**round robin**] toggle control is covered in the following section. Information regarding the other controls, how they influence parameters, and what this means for Admin Rule Profile customization is provided in the Admin Rule Profiles configuration procedures section. > [!NOTE] > **Note**: Configurations using **Process Status** parameters have not been included in the examples above in order to make the parameter sequence examples as simple as possible. The **Process Status** parameters offer good solutions for AMCs that want to assign their staff users to orders at different points in the order workflow. Please see the Applying Admin Rule Profiles to staff management section for more details. --- ## Outcome This overview explains how to navigate the Admin Rule Profiles page and interpret the key controls and fields used to manage rule profiles. It also explains how configuring parameters and assignment options affects which orders staff can see and whether orders are assigned automatically or monitored for manual action.
