This is a useful tool for checking to ensure a property is exactly where you want it to be if you need it to fall within school boundaries or within a certain zip code, for example. **Available Boundary Views:** There are four standard boundary views that you will always have – Parcel, Zip Code, City, and County. School District (Unified, elementary, or Secondary), and Common Neighborhood (when available) are configured by your MLS system administrator. **Parcel Boundaries Overview** When the parcel boundary is turned on, the property lines for all parcels appear. You can set Parcel view as the default view in your user preferences. Click [here](/docs/location-boundaries-on-the-map#) to view the active Parcel boundary lines. ![Realist map rendering individual property parcel boundary lot lines.](https://cdn.document360.io/d7730790-9b0e-4a1e-800e-a32628b13559/Images/Documentation/Location_Boundaries_on_the_map_1.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T00%3A31%3A34Z&se=2026-11-06T01%3A31%3A34Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=KNJ65wM08Bbyc0ycIsBV8DA%2FBzATIGmiLLGOspQUTEc%3D) **TIP:** To view boundaries, you must be zoomed in to the Map. If you are viewing a very large area the boundary lines will not appear. There is a zoom in or zoom out icon which will appear on the boundary menu if you are not at the correct zoom level **Regional Boundaries (Zip Code, City, & County)** **Zip Code:** This option displays the zip code boundaries for the area. You may need to zoom out to see these boundaries. Select one or more boundaries you would like to display. You may need to zoom in or out on the Map to see the desired boundary. As you select each boundary, it will appear on the Map. **NOTE:** You can select and display up to six boundaries concurrently. **To Turn Off a Boundary Layer** To turn off layer boundaries, choose one of the following methods: - Open the Boundaries flyout panel tool and click the boundary check box directly to deselect it OR - Click the **“X”** remove button situated immediately next to the name of each active map layer enabled within the tracking menu interface. **Using Quick Identify** You can always quickly view a parcel boundary by clicking any targeted area of the active Map. This structural action calls up the property detail hover box inline, allowing you to instantly view core owner information and access both Quick Zoom and administrative Reports links for that localized parcel or property.
