# How to Suppress a Reference Number on Credco.com to Order New Credit

## Overview

If you need to buy new credit data after a credit report has already been generated, you must suppress a reference number in Credco.com, then submit a new request for your borrower in Encompass. This will override the reuse of the existing credit data and allow you to pull new credit data.

> **Note**: If you do not have access to the Suppress Reference Number, reach out to your Cotality Account Representative.

## Suppressing a Reference Number

1. Search for the **Reference Number**.
2. Click **Search**.
3. Select the **Reference Number**.
4. Select **Suppress Reference Number.**
5. Click **Confirm** to proceed with suppressing the selected reference number.
6. A notification will show that the suppression was successful; click **OK** to close.
7. To buy new credit data, log back into **Encompass**.
8. Submit a **New Request**.

> [!NOTE]
> **Note**: Once suppressed, the reference number can still be used for actions like adding or removing a bureau or borrower, reprinting, or re-accessing, but it cannot be suppressed again.
