# How to Search for Loans on DigitalTax® Portal

## Overview

You use the Loans search interface to locate specific borrower accounts or filter your portfolio by status, investor, or agency. Searching by direct loan identifiers or multi-criteria attributes allows you to retrieve property and tax records efficiently.

## Steps

1. Select **Loans** from the left-hand navigation menu.
2. Select your preferred search method:
  1. **Search by Criteria**: Select the State and provide additional filter criteria.
  2. **Search by Loan**: Enter the Loan Number or Contract Number.
3. Click **Search Loan**.
4. In the search results table, click the hyperlinked **Loan Number** to open the record.

> [!NOTE]
> **Note**: If your search criteria results in an exact match, the system bypasses the results table and opens the Loan Details page automatically.

## Outcome

You have located and opened the target loan record. You can now view all loan attributes, review reporting history, or perform parcel-level actions.
