The signup process collects basic company and contact information, checks for existing accounts by email address or phone number, and guides appraisers, appraisal firms, appraisal management companies (AMCs), and real estate agents through the appropriate registration path. --- [Embedded content](https://app.storylane.io/demo/suzoifdc7mcj?embed=inline) ## How to create a vendor account Complete the following steps to register your business and create login credentials for the Mercury Network vendor portal. > [!NOTE] > **Note**: When initially entering in your profile information, we will use your email address or phone number to verify if you are already in our system. Then, enter your **Company Name**, **Phone Number**, and **E-mail Address,** use a unique email address. 4. Click Next to create your account. Depending on your company information, you may be prompted for additional information. 1. If you own an XSite, Mercury Network® prompts you to enter your XSite password. Enter your XSite password into the box provided and click **Sign In**. 2. If Mercury finds an existing account matching your details, you receive a notice. Click the **Forgot your Password?** link to retrieve your account password. 3. If another account exists on Mercury Network® that may be related to your account, you're prompted to review a list of potential duplicate accounts. If you find an account for yourself in the list, select your account and click **Next**. 5. If you're an AMC you'll need to fill out the **Account Information** screen with your account information (name, company, address, etc). At a minimum, be sure to fill in all of the fields marked with a red asterisk. When finished, click **Next** and then click **Next** again in the **Account Activated screen**. 6. Review and accept the End User License Agreement by selecting **I Agree**, then click **Continue.** A confirmation email will be sent with your new account details. --- ## How to choose the correct account type **A Critical Step for Appraisers:** When creating your account, be sure to select "Appraiser Office Less Than 10." This is a critical setup step for individual appraisers and small appraisal offices. ⚠️ Avoid selecting "Appraisal Management Company/Firm" unless you are registering as an AMC. Choosing the wrong profile type will place you in the AMC view and can prevent lenders from finding your profile when searching for standard appraiser listings. An incorrect account type may reduce profile visibility and cause the business to miss appraisal order opportunities. --- ## How to create an acceptable password **Password Creation:** A fully **green password-strength indicator** does not guarantee that Mercury Network will accept the password. The system may reject passwords that contain common or predictable patterns. To improve the likelihood of a successful password reset: - Avoid using complete words. If your password contains a recognizable word, limit it to the first four letters or fewer. - Substitute letters with symbols or numbers where appropriate (for example, replacing A with @, E with 3, or S with $). - Combine uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters to create a stronger password. - The system evaluates more than just password length and complexity—it also checks for common or predictable word patterns. Making these small adjustments can help you meet security requirements and avoid repeated password reset attempts. --- ## Outcome After you complete registration and accept the license agreement, Mercury Network® sends a confirmation email with the new account details. You can then sign in to complete the vendor profile and begin receiving eligible appraisal order opportunities based on the selected account type and profile information.
