How Manage Staff Profiles in Appraisal Scope®

Overview

This article explains how AMC administrators use the Staff tab in Appraisal Scope® to manage staff profiles and related settings. It covers common tasks such as configuring email notifications, assigning admin rule profiles and permissions, setting vacation status, and managing group and tab access.

Groups page

The Groups page gives AMCs the capacity to consolidate permission settings that would generally apply to a group of staff users who perform a similar role within the AMC. A good example for purposes of illustration here would be to consider an AMC’s procurement team. The members of this team would never be expected to manage an order through the Appraisal Scope workflow, but they may be responsible for tasks for which access to financial information is needed. In this scenario, a group would be created and configured with permissions that would allow all its members to perform these tasks. A staff user would then need to make sure that each staff profile associated with the members of the team was associated with this group (see How to Use the Staff Tab in Appraisal Scope®).

Note: The permissions available to be configured for groups are the same as those available to be configured by individual staff profile in the Permissions column of the Staff Profile list. This Groups tab functionality, then, is ideal in scenarios when an AMC needs to modify a Permission configuration scheme in a way that will impact all staff users performing a particular role, rather than just for an individual user.

Adding and configuring a group

1. From the landing page, click the Staff tab on the main tab menu, and then click the Groups tab on the Staff tab menu.

2. Next, click Add Group from the Groups page.

3. When the Create a new group dialog box opens, enter a group name and click Submit.

4. Choose which Permissions you want to apply to the group, and select each check box that corresponds to a permission.

5. Click Save when you’re finished. The group will now be available to apply from the Staff Profile list.

Note: The permissions associated with a group can be changed at any time by selecting or clearing check boxes. Just remember to click Save each time to apply the changes.

Editing or deleting a group

Staff users can also edit the group name associated with a group and delete any group from the Groups page. To change a group name, the user will click the Current Group drop-down, click on the name to be edited, and then click Edit group. When the Edit a group dialog box opens, the user will enter the new name in the Name text box and then click Submit.

To delete a group, a staff user will click the Current Group drop-down, click on the group to be deleted, and then click Delete Group.
