# Finding Points of Interest

### Finding Points of Interest

        
            

You can use the Points of Interest tool to populate an area you are viewing with points of interest, such as schools, banks, transportation, and restaurants. You can select items from the following list:

        

        

            

                
                    
                        
                        

**Select Points of Interest Categories**

                    
                    
                        

Open the Points of Interest panel and toggle the checkboxes next to the criteria categories you wish to track. As you select items, icons for the points of interest appear on the Map.

**Review Icons Rendered on the Map Layout**

                    
                    
                        

Observe the map canvas to locate the updated visual anchors. The following view example illustrates educational institutions successfully tracking on the Map view:

**Taking a Closer Look**

                    
                    
                        

Click any localized point of interest icon directly on the map viewport to view structural specific data metrics—such as the explicit business name of a Bank financial institution asset record.

                        
                            
                            

**NOTE:** Points of Interest show up exclusively at the **500ft zoom level**. If you do not see specific points of interest upon selection, be sure to zoom into your target neighborhood area to initialize them on the map matrix viewport.

                        

                        
                            
                            

**TIP:** You may want to use the Map drawing tools to enhance the points of interest you’ve found on the Map. You could find condos within a 1/2 mile radius of a train station or all single family residences within a two mile radius of a particular school. To do this, draw a shape around the point of interest and perform a “shape search” on the search grid.
