Mercury Network® provides a way to record the delay, update the due date if needed, and communicate the reason appropriately based on your ordering settings. --- ## How to Delay an Order [Embedded content](https://app.storylane.io/demo/i8kkrx1aub5t?embed=inline) 1. In the **Active Order Folders** panel on the left, click **All Open Orders**. 2. Locate the order in the **All Open Orders** list, then double-click it to open **Order Details**. 3. In the top toolbar, click **Set Status** and select **Delayed**. 4. In the **Set Order Status** dialog box, perform one of the following actions: 1. If the order has a new due date, enter it in the **New Due Date** field. 2. **If using** **double-blind ordering**: Select one of the pre-provided reasons for holding the order. 3. **If not using double-blind ordering**: Type a message explaining the reason for the hold. 4. (Optional) To update the Client VMP and notify the client, select **Update status on the VMP Client order and notify client**. 5. Click **OK**. The **Order History** log will record that the order status is set to **Delayed**. --- ## Outcome After completing these steps, you will be able to mark an order as delayed, update the due date when applicable, and document the reason for the delay. This ensures the order status accurately reflects the situation and keeps communication aligned with double‑blind requirements when applicable.
