# How to Configure Default Vendors on Vendor Selection Settings on Mercury Network®

## Overview

Assign default vendors to specific product types to automate your workflow. This feature ensures that residential products are routed to AMCs and commercial products to specialized appraisers, reducing manual overhead and accelerating the assignment process.

## How to Map Default Vendors

The Default Vendors feature allows you to automate assignment logic based on the product type. By mapping specific products (e.g., Residential vs. Commercial) to preferred vendor categories (e.g., AMCs vs. Individual Appraisers), you ensure that orders are routed correctly from the start, reducing manual intervention and administrative errors.

1. Navigate to the top navigation bar and select **Preferences**.
2. Select **Vendor Selection Settings** in the dropdown menu.
3. On the toolbar, click **Default Vendors**.
4. Map your **Product Types** to your preferred **Vendor Types**. (Example: Assign all Residential products to AMC/Firms and all Commercial products to Commercial Appraisers.)
5. Click **Save**.
