Overview

This article explains how to configure the Modern Jobtypes tab in Appraisal Scope® to support modern appraisal workflows such as URAR and Restricted Appraisal Updates. You’ll learn how these settings help standardize order setup, apply the correct file types, and keep your process aligned with GSE requirements. Use this guidance to ensure your team is using the most current workflow options for accurate appraisal document selection.

Introduction to the Settings tab

The Settings tab contains a collection of pages where AMCs can configure administrative settings that will impact many aspects of their platform-version functionality. In addition, AMCs will find controls here that will allow them to set up on their platform-version the visual and textual elements unique to their company.

A user will click the Settings tab from the main tab menu to access the Settings tab menu. All pages accessible from the Settings tab menu and the functionality available within them are documented below.

Company Information

The Company Information page is where AMCs will enter the name, address, and contact details that will appear on their invoices; establish the email settings that will accompany the notifications they send; and set up the visual and textual elements that will be displayed on their platform-version and in their Contact Us tab.

All AMC information entered through the Company Information page will need to be saved by clicking Save Information at the bottom of the page. If an admin user would like to reset the information captured in the text fields of the Company Information page to the state it was in before it was last saved, they will click Reset.

Note: The Reset button functionality does not apply to information entered into the Contact Us Information and Company Signature text editors.

Company information displayed on invoices

Some of the information entered into the text fields on the Company Information page will display on an AMC’s invoices. Figure 3.1 shows which specific text fields will capture information that will be displayed on invoices.

Note: The phone number entered into the Phone field above will also appear on the Login page associated with an AMC’s platform-version.

Company information impacting emails

Some of the information entered into text fields on the Company Information page will be used to direct and populate all email notifications sent from an AMC’s platform-version. The following text fields capture this information.

Notification Email. The email address entered into this text field is the email address from which an AMC’s notification emails will be sent.

Notification Email Name. The name entered into this text field is the name that will be displayed in the From field associated with an AMC’s notification emails.

Company Signature. The Company Signature text editor dialog box is located on the bottom right-hand side of the Company Information page. The details typed and formatted in this dialog box can be used as the signature to close emails generated by a platform-version.

The signature created here is intended to be used along with the email templates that an AMC has created in their platform-version. For an AMC to configure their platform-version to use this signature in an email generated from a template, an admin user will need to include the [company_signature] tag when they create that template.

Company information controlling visual elements

An AMC can choose their color scheme and logo that will appear on their Appraisal Scope platform-version from the Company Information page.

To set a color scheme, a user will click the Company Name Color text field and enter either the RGB code, HSB code, or hex code specific to their AMC.

To choose the logo that will appear on a platform-version, a user will click Choose File next to the Company Logo line on the page and choose their logo from their file directory.

Company information: Contact Us message

An AMC can create from the Company Information page the message that will display to clients and appraisers who click Contact Us from their platform interface. This message can be typed and formatted in the Contact Us Information text editor dialog box located on the upper right-hand side of the page.

Notification

The Notification page gives AMCs a place to create and edit custom notifications to be directed to clients, staff, or appraisers. All notifications once created will be visible in a list on the right side of the Notification page. Admin users will be able to edit or delete any entry in the list by clicking the appropriate icon under the Edit or Delete column of the list.

To create notifications, an admin user will type the title they’d like to give to the notification message in the Title text field, and then the text of their intended message in the Message text field. When finished, the user will click Add Notification. Notifications created here will appear as options available in the Additional Notifications drop-down list, accessible from the Appraisal page, Updates tab.

A user can also make a notification available to appraisers as a status update option by selecting the Set for appraiser check box associated with the appropriate list entry. Providing these options to appraisers allows an AMC to stay in control of their update notifications, and it’s a good way for the AMC to ensure that they are receiving consistent information from appraisers across the board.  It also benefits the appraiser, allowing them to quickly update an order status with preset text, eliminating the need for them to write out a bunch of information.

Outcome

After completing these configuration steps, your system will have Modern Jobtypes set up and ready for use. Orders will automatically apply the appropriate product parameters and file types to support modern appraisal workflows. This helps reduce manual selection errors and improves consistency across your appraisal process.
