These notes are visible only to users within your Mercury Network® account and are stored securely with the order. --- If you need to add a note to an order for your own audit purposes, there's a feature for that. Keep in mind, these notes are only visible to you and your other Mercury Network® users. The appraiser will not see this type of note, nor will any notification be sent. ## How to Add an Internal Note 1. Click on the status of the order to which you'd like to add a note. 2. Find the order in the list of orders on the right and double-click it. 3. On the toolbar, click **Add note**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/d7730790-9b0e-4a1e-800e-a32628b13559/Images/Documentation/image-740UJYVM.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T00%3A02%3A42Z&se=2026-11-06T01%3A02%3A42Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=PIXFpVFJ9pwgDmmKhDQEac6uHHMSH%2Bb5mXABvQo%2BV38%3D) 4. After confirming the prompt that appears, you'll see a window that will allow you to type the note. 1. Since this note is entirely for your internal purposes and is visible only to you and your other Mercury Network® users, you can type any message that you like. 5. When you're satisfied with the note you typed, click **Add**. The note's contents will appear in the order's audit trail along with a time-stamp and the name of the user who added the note. --- ## Outcome After completing these steps, you will be able to add internal notes to an order that appear in the audit trail with a timestamp and user name. This helps maintain clear internal documentation without sending messages or notifications to the vendor.
